Configuration Manager 2007 on SQL Server 2008
System Center Configuration Manager 2007 RTM and SP1 now supports SQL Server 2008 as a site database. However there are two hot fixes that is required to be in before the site-server database can be upgraded to SQL Server 2008.
- For ConfigMgr 2007 RTM: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955229
- For ConfigMgr 2007 SP1: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955262
Some important things to take note. SQL Server 2008 cannot be used in a clean installation of ConfigMgr 2007 RTM. So you must first install using SQL Server 2005 then upgrade it to SQL Server 2008. Remember to apply the KB955229 fix after that.
ConfigMgr 2007 SP1 supports SQL Server 2008 in a clean installation but not forgetting to apply the KB955262 fix after it has been installed.
