Here’s something I thought is interesting for some of you guys doing an upgrade from a previous version or have been trying out the evals.

The following table shows which versions can be upgraded to Configuration Manager 2007 SP1.

Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 Evaluation Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 Service Pack Release Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 Complete Release
SMS 2003 SP1 No No No
SMS 2003 SP2 No No Yes
SMS 2003 SP3 Yes No Yes
Configuration Manager 2007 RTM Yes Yes Yes
Configuration Manager 2007 Evaluation Release No No No
Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 Evaluation Release n/a No Yes

The evaluation release is the one which expires 180 days after installation. Service pack release is the one to be applied to an existing Configuration Manager 2007 site. The slipstream version of ConfigMgr SP1 is the a complete release.
