Updated Prerequisite Component Path

If you’ve been installing SCCM 2007 (RTM and above), you would have realized that there is a new page for prerequisite component download. Tired of waiting for the download to complete so that you could begin the installation? Well, for those doing it in production would probably do it only once, but if you’d had to do reinstallations, it would be great if the downloads were already done and you could just point to a path to get those updates. Or maybe you do not have Internet access on the Site Server that you are installing on. You can run Setup on a computer that has Internet connection by using the "/download" switch with a destination path to where you want it to be downloaded to.

Setup.exe /download <C:downloads>

The setup program can be located on the CD at SMSSETUPBINI386setup.exe. Now, all you gotta do is wait, depending on the speed of your Internet connection this might take a bit of time.

Enjoy!!!
